THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE
is a branch of the U.S. Government that has been given the
responsibility to take care of all animal species within the
borders of the United States of America.

The USFWS is devided up into regions, each regulating
hunting and fishing in its area.  The current areas are:



1 Pacific Region Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii
2 Southwest Region Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas
3 Midwest Region Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin
4 Southeast Region Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, South Carolina, Tennessee
5 Northeast Region Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Virginia, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Massachusetts, West Virginia
6 Mountain-Prairie
Region
Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming
7 Alaska Region Alaska
8 Pacific Southwest Region California, Nevada, Klamath Basin in Oregon
